New Mural

Miami artist, Elio Mercado graced sunny Youngstown on Saturday May 25. Mercado painted his mural “Lynched Dreams” on the side of 28 and 32 Fifth Avenue in Youngstown, Ohio. The building will someday house ISLE, Inc. and Purple Cat offices and programs. The building is located across from the WRTA Station in Downtown Youngstown. The mural is quite evident coming down from YSU and heading towards the Mr. Peanut Bridge. Check it out!

Mercado was in the Youngstown Area as an artist contracted by Wynwood Cigars. Mercado and Wynwood were in town for a special event held at the Havana House in Niles. The Havana House employed some workers from Golden String and Purple Cat to help with their promotional and fundraising event. Mercado also created a mural inside the Havana House.

Thank you Havana House and Mike Humes!

Kim Bellatto, a Golden String Board Member, coordinated the event with her son, Tony. A generous contribution was made to Golden String Inc. on behalf of the Havana House.

Thank you Havana House!
